Experience

Why is I.L.Y La Rosière one of the best 4-star hotels in La Rosière?

‍

When choosing a 4-star hotel in La Rosière, several factors make all the difference: proximity to the slopes, the comfort of the rooms, the amenities, the dining experience, and even the spa. I.L.Y La Rosière checks all these boxes, with an extra touch of soul embodied in its philosophy, “House of Happiness.” It embodies a unique vision of mountain hospitality, where well-being isn’t limited to the spa but is woven into every moment of your stay. After all, doesn’t the hotel’s name stand for “I Love You”? Here are five reasons to choose I.L.Y La Rosière for your next ski vacation.

‍

For his exhibition and his views of the Alps

Light plays an essential role in well-being and is one of the highlights of I.L.Y La Rosière. Situated at an altitude of 1,850 meters in a south-facing resort, the hotel’s rooms and common areas offer sweeping views of the mountains. Located in Les Eucherts, one of La Rosière’s neighborhoods, it overlooks the Tarentaise Valley and offers particularly unobstructed panoramic views of the peaks. Most of the 69 rooms and suites are bright and offer views of the peaks; some, such as the 65-square-meter Mountain Suites and the 55-square-meter Duplex Suites, feature the added bonus of a balcony.

‍The Alpine chalet, 21st-centurystyle.

I.L.Y La Rosière bears no resemblance to a traditional Savoyard chalet. Opened in 2017 under the Hyatt Centric brand, the building underwent a transformation in 2021 to become the first I.L.Y Hotels property, a 4-star lifestyle hotel with 69 rooms and suites. The mountain vibe is given a contemporary twist with larch headboards, wicker lampshades, and vintage finds. At the St B. bar, the decor draws inspiration from the ’70s, with vintage tables and chairs scattered around the fireplace—the go-to spot for gathering after a day on the slopes. It’s a refreshing take on traditional mountain hospitality.

To go skiing without worrying about the logistics

Feeling good during a mountain getaway also means not having to worry about the logistics. At I.L.Y., everything is taken care of from the moment you book: the concierge service arranges transfers and ski lessons, while lift tickets can be purchased directly at the front desk. As for gear, there’s no need to leave the hotel: the Olympic Sports ski shop, run by Marc Pirard, former coach of the French national ski teams, lets you reserve your equipment in advance. Once there, you stop by the ski room before heading to the Eucherts Express, just 300 meters away. From there, the Espace San Bernardo offers 156 km of slopes stretching between France and Italy, all the way to La Thuile in the Aosta Valley. This means you can go skiing in France in the morning and cross the border on your skis later that same day. Conveniently, the concierge service also handles ski lesson reservations.

To add variety to your dining experience

Well-being starts with what’s on your plate—that much is clear. And in this regard, I.L.Y. La Rosière has a lot to offer, with three dining options that let you enjoy a variety of experiences without ever leaving the hotel. Le Bonami is the main restaurant at I.L.Y. La Rosière. It serves breakfast and dinner and offers contemporary cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. For a true mountain evening, head to Le Mazot for its comforting classics: fondue, raclette… As for the St B. bar, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the slopes, whether you’re enjoying a hot chocolate for an afternoon snack or an après-ski drink, to be savored by the fireplace or on the south-facing terrace. We love: the afternoon snack break from 3 to 5 p.m.

‍

For its spa with a view

Here’s the secret that makes IlY la Rosière a must-visit destination. Spanning 420 m², the NUXE Spa offers everything you could dream of for a relaxing break after a day on the slopes: a 16 × 5 m heated pool, three hot tubs (including one outdoors), a sauna, a steam room, and three treatment rooms. The wood-paneled interior features large floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the mountain peaks. You can alternate between a few laps in the pool, the warmth of the sauna, and the whirlpool, before indulging in a massage or a NUXE facial.
